This was one contented junkyard cat...
He was a happy camper!
Color coat went on OK, nearly ran out of paint. Takes a lot to cover even a couple coats...
Then I started on clear coat. Shoots very different than color coat, much thicker material, was flashing off so fast it was nearly dry when it hit the bumper. Makes it hard to float out and self-level. I really had to lay it on thick.
Once it tacked off, I was able to pull the paper. Now to wait for it to harden a day, fine sand and spin buff, put the pinstriping back on...
definitely a different shade of red than the rest, although it looks worse in the pic than it does IRL, and when I get the fenders polished out, they'll brighten up...
Started in on Maureen's Mustang front end last weekend, Kyle and I rough sanded the front bumper and grille, and part of the left front fender, and both fender caps. Finally got them fine sanded, and shot primer tonight.
Will do the wet sanding Monday evening and shoot color then clear. Should be cured and ready to go by Wednesday, drive it to Kansas Thursday and swap it for Sparky. Looks like I'll be bringing a tow dolly to trailer it back to Ne, since it sounds like the engine is gone. Oh well, it has been a good truck all these years, they don't last forever....
Got sent to a house to do an inspection. Nice little brick ranch, maybe 800 sq feet. Nice, until I opened the door. I called the Realtor and asked if they were kidding? Turns out she had the house numbers wrong. Not 5720, 5027. Five blocks, in this case, makes a hell of a difference....
trash and garbage piled three feet high in most of the house.
massive cobwebs hanging from the ceilings in all rooms...
hard to see, but part of the living room, VHs tapes on top of a vcr on top of a TV. All porn.
food boxes, McD sacks all over, half drunk pop and beer cans, mouse and rat traps all over, cockroaches galore.
this, believe it or not, was a functioning bathroom. Sort of.
see the vacuum cleaner in the pile. This would be considered torture for vacuums to have to live in...
Lower level bathroom. Look carefully, you can see cans and jars of food sitting all over the house. Some of it old, rotting, moldy, etc. Refrig was non-functioning, had never been cleaned out since it quit...
If that isn't enough to make you want to run screaming down the street, go home and take three showers...
Needless to say I called the City Building Inspectors and turned the place in. I have no idea who lives there.
