Applejack Car Show, Nebraska City
Monte Carlo...
a '53 M38A1, all restored and repainted, had a German gas can on the back...
nicely rechromed 53 GMC 5 window pickup. Not sure what happened to the camera on this shot...
nice '70 Chevy step side...
a '68 Ford Ranger Special, with a 390 automatic...
a '48 Ford F-1, nicely done...
a '75 Thunderbird...390..not very collectible in my mind, but they are getting more scarce by the day...
very sharp '49 Ford with a custom flat bed and trailer...this guy made a go-kart out of a Radio Flyer red wagon, and had it there...
'69 Chevy Impala with a factory 427 big block, and correct redline tires...
yeah, it was sweet...
Model T pickup, nicely done, wire wheels are original...
a '69 Dodge Charger R/T with the 383 in it...
'54 Pontiac...
awesome pinstriping job on the fenders and hood...
'50 Chevy pickup...
this was a Dodge Power Wagon, about a '66. Extremely clean body, not a wave or scratch on it...
63 1/2 Chevy II ...
Kyle's Camaro looked nice at the show, he had plenty of compliments...
very nice '64 Chevy 4 door parked next to Allen's El Camino...
Allen's El Camino...the flames really stood out in the sun, he had a lot of interest, especially from fellow El Camino owners...
'60 Triumph Spitfire...notice the separate park lights and turn signals...this won best of show in the Foreign department...
Kyle's Camaro wasn't the only one there...this was an '80, not a Berlinetta, a standard one. They said it originally had a V-6. They had gone through the interior and repainted it, installed a 350 in it...
sharp '67 Ford Fairlane.....surprisingly no Galaxie 500's at the show...
a '58 Oldsmobile, love those massive front ends...

very nice little '56 Chevy...
'64 Chevy Impala Convertible...
'59 Buick....
'53 Ford F-1 pickup...
you have to love it...
a '60 Chevy...
'55 Chevy with a slightly modified hood...
Allen's friend Greg would drool at this one, a CJ-5, with more mods than you could count...
a '72Dodge Challenger 440 Magnum "Six-pack", which is 3-2 barrels, factory.
very nice wheel covers..spotlight on the windshield post...

a '67 Pontiac Catalina, with lakepipes, fenderskirts, etc...
sweet '54 Mercury....
a '58 Chevy Bel-Air...
'64 Chevy Impala convertible...
'55 Chevy 210 Station Wagon, pretty wild paint...
'39 Plymouth, this one had a supercharger with two four barrels topped by a nice scoop...
pretty wild '23 bucket "T" roadster. Fiberglass body kit, tubular frame, there really isn't anything original about this one at all, except "the look"...
another neat little bucket "T" kit...handmade aluminum manifold with 2 4 barrels perched on it...
this bucket "T" had an original metal Modelt T body and radiator shell, albeit modified a bunch...
an '04 SSR made it's way into the fray...
it even had a baby in the windshield...
a '50 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe, with sunvisor, 235 straight six, original wheel covers, fender skirts in the rear...
I love the grilles on these massive Oldsmobiles... about a '48...

Mopre photos from the Applejack Car Show in Nebraska City...
you can see this one coming....
they made a custom hood for this one, it originally hinged down the middle of the hood and the sides lifted...they custom made this one and fabricated hinges to lift from the front like a conventional hood....
a '58 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible, very few of these were ever made...
one of Nebraska City's Antique Fire trucks, a 1936 Seagrave Pumper...
a '29 Model A Fire Chief's Car...
this is a 1921 American LaFrance ladder truck. The tires are specially made, 40" diameter rims...you have to see it to get the perspective... Kyle's rear tires would fit inside the rim of these...

no car show would be complete without a lowered and chopped '49 Mercury...

quite the flame job...
a very nice '57 Chevy Nomad Wagon...
unusual color combination....

More cars from the Applejack Car show...
nice '65 Chevelle Malibu convertible...
Sweet little '55 Chevy
Another Chevelle Malibu, about a '68...
'67 Mustang...
Olds Cutlass 4-4-2 convertible...
This 1914 Model T won 1st place in the early-early category, it used an acetylene tank of gas to run the headlamps, you unhinged the lenses, turned on the gas and lit the lamps. Acetylene tank is on the running board... The little coach lights by the dash run on kerosene... the speedometer is driven off the right front wheel... no electric starter, hand crank, with its own leather storage pouch. To get it started in the winter, you drained the oil out of the crankcase, brought it in the house and warmed it on the woodstove, then poured it back into the engine....you had to manually advance/retard the timing or "spark", with a lever on the steering column, and you set the speed there too, like a tractor...the gas tank sat behind the rear seat, no fuel pump, it was gravity feed. When you were low on gas and going up a steep hill, it would run out of gas. So you coasted back down the hill, got it primed and started, then backed up the hill so the tank would be higher than the engine...

Applejack Car Show continued...
This originally started life as a '50 Ford, but not much of it left..suicide doors, '49 Merc grille, '54 Pontiac front grille opening, top lowered, custom rear tailights, custom dash, etc.
gorgeous Ford...
this Yamaha XS1100 won best of show in Motorcycles for the chameleon paint...
'51 Pontiac...had A/C added...
'67 Pontiac GTO....
